둘 다 허가 범위 밖, 오프라벨이에요

Nostril botox only reduces how much the nostrils flare when you smile. Both sites are off-label in Korea. Onset is usually 3 to 7 days, and the effect fades over 3 to 4 months.

What mouth-corner botox actually does

There is a muscle running from each corner of the mouth down toward the jaw, the depressor anguli oris. Its job is to pull the corner down. When it stays overactive, the face reads as annoyed even at rest. A small dose of botulinum toxin reduces that pull for a while. That is the whole trick. It does not lift a cheek that has descended, and it does not fill a fold that has already been carved into the skin.

Does nostril botox make the nostrils smaller?

I get this question a lot, and I would rather answer it plainly. The size of the nostrils at rest is set by bone, cartilage, and skin thickness. Botox does not shrink any of those. What it can do is reduce the flaring movement when you smile or talk. If your concern is the resting shape, this injection is the wrong tool.

Both are off-label in Korea

Korean product licenses for botulinum toxin list specific approved areas, such as glabellar lines. The depressor anguli oris and the nostril muscles are not on that list, so both treatments are off-label. Off-label does not mean forbidden. It means the doctor explains, you consent, and it happens within ordinary medical judgment. It also means the data are thinner than for approved areas. We could not find a study that measured duration for these sites alone, so be careful with anyone who quotes you an exact number of months.

Muscle problem or sagging problem? Sort that out first

Try this in front of a mirror: lift your cheek gently with a finger. If the corner of your mouth rises with it, descent of the cheek is doing most of the work, and botox will change very little. If the corner only pulls down when you make an expression, the muscle is the issue. When the problem is structural, I do not recommend this injection. The honest conversation then is about jawline sagging or nasolabial folds instead.

What to be careful about

The area around the mouth is crowded with muscles you use for smiling and speaking. A slightly excessive dose, or a slightly wrong spot, can make a smile look uneven, and in rare cases speech can feel clumsy for a while. These changes wear off, but you wait weeks for that. Starting with a small dose is the safer habit. We do not inject during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in people with neuromuscular disease.

Q. When does mouth-corner botox start working? Reports for facial muscles in general say 3 to 7 days to onset, a peak around 2 weeks, and a return over 3 to 4 months. No study has measured the mouth corner separately, as far as we could confirm.

Q. Can botox reduce nostril size? No. Resting size is set by cartilage, bone, and skin thickness. Only the flaring movement can be reduced.
